Online Product Launches -Is it Time For Change?

Our goal is to work with affiliates and hopefully present some of the great product launches that really rock. We try to evaluate a product before we mail for it. But yet, there are times and will continue to be times where things happen.

So, I wanted to reach out to all of my subscribers to address an issue that is increasingly starting to plague online product launches.

And that is, the influx of “Overnight Gimmicks”, garbage software, re-hashed Private Label rights, and blatantly stolen products that are re-done and re-packaged as their own. All of this coupled with the lack of knowledge for the whole process is really starting to impact the industry.

Personally, I’m glad there is an increasing knowledge in the marketplace about these issues and am happy with the increased regulatory regulations being implemented and the whistle blowing by jaded customers. I know some of my colleagues have the same opinion.

That being said, there are A LOT of Legitimate Organizations, Entrepreneurs, Companies and products that are being adversely effected by all of the garbage that is in the marketplace.

I believe there needs to be more front end scrutiny when considering mailing affiliates.

That being said and in an effort to better serve this wonderful network as a whole, certain items will be required for us to consider doing a mailing.

1. The sales process must be proven and without error

2. There must be stats, meaning that all products will have been tested
and tracked.

3. There must be a sales page available, and it should be completed no later than 3 weeks prior to the launch.

4. What is your refund rate?

5. What is your optin rate?

6. Was split testing completed?

The stats are the most important piece. From there we can determine if it’s a match.

Finally, I’d like to know your thoughts, suggestions and gripes, so we can weed out the bad prospects and regain some ethical
standards?

We appreciate your support.

Sean

I think you hit it right on the head Sean. One of the reasons i moved into offline/local internet marketing was to get away from all the nonsense happening online. It has really spiraled out of control. If it’s not a Compensation Crusher, it’s a Push-One-Button-And-Be-Set-For-Life system . . . all garbage, and a waste of time. Hopefully, the authorities can get the lunatics back in the dell and regain control of the asylum, lol.

    Hello Sean,

I really appreciate what you are doing and I believe that this should become the standard. I am so sickened by all of these crazy Clickbank software products that are coming out. It’s a shame that things like this even get approved. What people will do for the all mighty dollar…

    Thanks for the integrity.

    Jay

it’s unfortunate, but there are always going to be people that are too lazy to do there own thing , so there own thing becomes stealing something that someone else worked to do. i know first hand. a few mon ths ago i opened va web site if for nothing else other then people helping people. mwhenever i have had to come up with a domaine name, if someone already had it , the information would come up on the computer along with a list of other names i might want to pick one from. well, i opened this web site and when i checked on it about a week later ,there was quite a bit of activity, i also noticed that there were quite a few other sites with tyhe same domaine name. how could this happen i know info comes up to let you know the name is alreasdy being used. i have had to change the name i wasd going to use a number of times. now i don’t know which web site was my original one because i wanted to put something else on it. Also, i just don’t want a freeloader riding on my efforts and expense.
how are we going to change the world before it’s too late. let’s try real hard to leave something wonderful, and a good example for our children ,grandchildren, etc.

Hi Sean. I really appreciate your effort to improve and make things better. Yes, this year I had several very disappointing experience with “poor” products. To my opinion, the most important thing is to test the product before launch and make sure that it delivers the promised benefits.

    Thanks,
    Alex

I’d also say the most important thing is if you don’t see the product you don’t promote it.

    Hi Sean,

Looking forward to the move forward. This is terrific news in light of the ton of re-hashed junk that many have “launched” of late promising something they can’t deliver. Time to weed out the money grabbers and stick with proven people and services.

    Thanks for all you do.

Also, my condolences on the passing of your mom.

    Best always,
    Paul Klein

I purchased several of the software products that would make my life much easier. The vendors all said that they had been using these to make big profits for themselves. Lo and behold, when I got the product, the software would not work. Now you tell me, if the vendor had been using it, how come it would not work when I got it. These liars will do anything and say anything to get your money. Thank God for Clickbank that guarantees a refund of the purchase price but there is no refund of the time lost that could have been put to a good product.

It would be great if you would notify your subscribers when you find a fraud so that we don’t waste time and energy.

    Hi Sean,
We are a vendor ourselves for the financial industry and I am very happy to see that someone is actively involved in reviewing products, weeding them out and finding the ones that are professional and worth the money.

The fact that there are so many gimmicky products out there, just gives online selling a bad name in general and will leave customers with a sour opinion of buying anything online that isn’t from a Fortune 500 company. Not only that, but their bad experience will be discussed with their family, friends and acquaintances. That takes quite a few potential customers out of the marketplace.

So with that said, thank you for doing something about it. True vendors will appreciate it.

That’s great news! I have come across so much re-hashed rubbish as well as products which are blatantly lying on their sales pages. Would it also be helpful that the product creator(s) supplies you with personal testamonials from eminent and trustworthy people in the industry? I know that if I wanted to get a new, quality product into the marketplace, it would be one of my initial tasks to make sure it had the approval of one or more esteemed professionals. Not difficult to get, I would have thought nor unreasonable for you to expect this. Just a suggestion!

I completely agree with your sentiment. The flood of poor quality or stolen products is seriously damaging the market, our reputation, our connection with our customers, and our self respect.

I think the questions you are adding to the process are good ones and will help weed out products with an unprofessional sales process, but I’d love to see a way to validate that the products promoted don’t suffer from the problems you originally called out.

“Overnight Gimmicks”, garbage software, re-hashed Private Label rights, and blatantly stolen products that are re-done and re-packaged as their own.

I wish I had easy answers instead of the question but… what can we do to address those issues directly? Can we somehow detect, even if it is not perfect, stolen products, gimmicks, and private label rights usage? The only way I know of to stop this is by requiring a review of the product from a trusted subject matter expert (as pointed out by Alex Gates earlier in the comments.)

    Hi Sean,

This is great, because all the “rubbish” online cost newbies a lot of money they can’t afford when starting out online.

We all appreciate what you do.

    Kind regards

Every thing that comes out now has hidden upgrades. Most people trying to break cannot purchase a product, only to find in order for it to work better you need the $100.00 plus upgrade to do it right. Or they need the high monthly ad on fees to be trained properly. What ever happened to being up front, honest and THIS PRODUCT REALLY WORKS JUST AS YOU SEE IT. No hidden cost until you buy it , then getting slammed, so you then refund it.

    Hey Sean,

Thanks for what you are attempting to do here. The more the scams get exposed, better for all involved. Weeding through the crap sold in the shark infested internet marketing niche has become a real problem that is completely out of hand.

Trust, integrity, honesty, all work in the long run. The issue is that many good people are getting burned along the way to finding who can be trusted in the first place.

Ty, sounds like a awesome plan. So sick of the junk, still can’t believe clickbank lets it all fly. All theses “guru’s” selling all this push button garbage and re-hashed junk. So tired of seeing it online and in my email box.

    TY Jon
